Information literacy is critical: Readings and resources to help

A snap from my book launch event at Charis Books & More last week. If you’re looking for signed book copies, that’s the place to get them!

Hi!
A short newsletter this week highlighting a few announcements that I think you’d find helpful.

First up: I published a guide for evaluating resources and sifting out misinformation in my food + history newsletter.

This was a section I wrote in my next book, The Essential Preserving Handbook, but it felt important to share now: While it applies to food preserving information, the skills I list can be applied to any information source.

I hope you find it helpful!

My Creative Revolution workshop with Julia Albain has been postponed until next year: Join our waitlist so I can make sure to save you a spot!

We’re combining productivity-enhancing skills, energy work, herbalism, and centering your work in pleasure in order to help you build a lifelong creative practice rooted in your unique way of working so you can bring the work you’re meant to create into the world.

I’d love to have you join us! The workshop includes:

-a resource library (with lifetime access)

-a community Slack channel for supporting and celebrating each other between sessions.

-plus four live sessions combining energy work and a weekly focus on different aspects of building your creative practice.

Shoot me an email (julia@root-kitchens.com) to get on the waitlist!

I was featured in Contingent Magazine last week, in a very thorough, in-depth interview that was such a joy to do.

Learn more about how I go about studying history, and how history and all my other interests intersect in my work!

I’m spending the week resting and really leaning into celebrating myself after last week’s book launch plus serving as an expert witness in a trial (my first trial as a subject matter expert, but hopefully not my last!)

how are you celebrating yourself this week?
