Roots and Branches

the theory and practice of living a creative life.

What if the seemingly impossible were inevitable?

The practices in this newsletter were inspired by the monthly calls I led today for both the Mycelia Coven and Symbiosis. You can jump into the Coven any time here, and get on the waitlist for Symbiosis here (2027 is going to be a big year for us!)

Creative people are worldbuilders. It’s in our nature. But we also live in a collective reality that reminds us constantly of the supposed limitations of what we’re building.

As we saw with yesterday’s US elections, sometimes what’s possible can exceed our expectations, and it feels like a part of a larger individual and collective shift where desired possibilities that have felt abstract or distant are suddenly beginning to take shape.

Reality is coalescing around those distant possibilities, giving them form, giving them structure within our real world now. I’ve been seeing this in a lot of our own lives too, especially with people I work with closely.

This month is a time for us to get intimate with the idea that the reality we desire can coalesce around us. That magic and miracles aren’t just possible, they’re inevitable.

When we think about magnetism, we can think of it as an abstract thing: Visualizing ourselves having something we want, for example, without really letting ourselves feel and move as we would in our 3D world if we had that thing.

Here are a few steps we’ve been taking in the Coven and Symbiosis to help our desires coalesce into something tangible in our lives:

Start with gratitude.

Notice what is starting to take shape in your life, tap into the feeling of gratitude in your body, and see if you can imagine that sensation expanding to surround that new possibility. Notice if anything shifts (emotion, sensation, or imagined outcomes) when you do.

Let yourself hold space for surprise and serendipity.

Rather than demanding the outcome look a certain way, put your ask out in the universe, stay in resonance with it, and ask to be surprised. Be open to things working out in your favor. Let yourself be an energetic match not just for what you want but for the possibilities of things beyond it you haven’t even considered yet (this is what I do for my private 1:1 clients and for folks in Body of Work).

For possibilities that feel impossible:

Bridge the gap between your desire and your reality by asking what’s behind it.

Let’s say I want $10,000. I can say “I want this money” but the far more juicy and rich and interesting questions are the ones that explore what life looks like with it. Maybe it solves a problem, maybe it gives me breathing room, maybe it feels like a validation of some sort. None are bad, but honestly about the what and why shows me what to reach towards and makes magnetizing it easier.

What changes when I have this thing? Why do I want it? What does it make possible for me? How does my life look? What does it activate in me, why do I find it interesting?

This also raises the question not just of what’s in my world when I have this thing, but what I currently have or do or believe that no longer is a part of my life once this desire is a reality. What would I need to release to get this? What work do I need to do? So if I only believe I can make money by grinding hard, then that is going to be true for me. If I think money is evil and anyone who makes more than subsistence wages is evil, then making money is going to feel repellant and complicated.

So how can I release that, and how can I even just begin to imagine other avenues? At first maybe not with much specificity, but the blurry shapes you begin to craft in your imagination eventually form more concrete outlines as your unconscious works them, and if you believe this is yours and there’s a way of working to get it that aligns with the life you want, you’ll begin to shape a vision of the reality where that happens.

Move like it’s inevitable.

Listen to your intuition. Put the thing out in the world and then when you get feedback from your internal guidance system saying what to do, even if it doesn’t make logical sense, do the thing.

Magnetism is less about just performing the act of wanting something and imagining it, but actually living the life of a person who assumes it’s a foregone conclusion.

Being absolutely delusional and assuming it will work out is key.

More and more people are moving in spaces with me where we play with these questions and solutions both energetically and systemically/tangibly. I want to do both with you.

Body of Work is one avenue, another is Symbiosis (here’s the 2027 waitlist).

Or, let me build a container just for you.

It can be monthly meetings, on-demand spells and energy work, systems and strategy crafted for you, classic coaching, etc. Some/all/something completely different. Starting at $99/month for the most basic offerings and building upward from there.
